Jennifer Garber

Jennifer grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and received Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Special Education from Indiana University and proceeded to teach for 12 years.

Jennifer was consecrated, became a Bat Mitzvah, was Confirmed and married at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. She served as an officer in the temple youth group for several years, sang in the youth choir, was a member of OVFTY/NFTY and was a camper and staff member at Goldman Union Camp Institute. Her parents served on the temple board, were active members in Brotherhood/Sisterhood, served on the camp board and chaperoned countless youth events. Growing up, her synagogue was not only the center of her community; it was an extension of her home and family.

Jen and Stuart have been members of Congregation Beth Israel since 2006 and have two daughters, Madeline and Melanie. The girls attended Chanen Preschool and now attend Religious School and Camp Stein.

Jennifer completed the CBI Adult Leadership Development Class and has since chaired the Search Committee for the Youth Engagement Director and chaired the Religious School Committee for 3 years. Jennifer currently serves as chairperson for the JFCS Annual Adopt A Family Program and co-chairs the Committee for Youth Engagement with past president Marc Lerner. She also enjoys participating in CBI’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah Mentor program.
