Lunch and Learn Series
50 Years of the Last 100:
A History of Women in the Rabbinate
with
Rabbi Sara Mason-Barkin
Tuesdays in January at 12 PM
2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the ordination of Sally J Preisand, the first woman publicly ordained as a rabbi. Yet, her groundbreaking ordination which opened the door for subsequent generations of women was preceded by the impactful lives of other, lesser-known female scholars and community leaders. As we celebrate 100 years of CBI, come learn about the trailblazers and pathfinders who paved the way both before Sally and after – in the last 50 years, and beyond.
Special Announcement: During class on January 18th we will be joined by Rabbi Sally Preisand herself (over zoom.) All are welcome to come and hear her tell her story: “Reflections on My Life As a Rabbi.”
Tuesdays in January: 4, 11, 18, 25th at Noon in person in the Bendalin Conference Room at Congregation Beth Israel or on ZOOM
