The study of the New Testament gives Jews a better understanding of some of the shared interests and significant differences between the Jewish and Christian faiths and peoples.

This course will begin by discussing the importance of studying the New Testament from a Jewish point of view.

It will then proceed to examine the Gospels and Epistles, and to deal with such questions as the responsibility for the crucifixion, the use of Jewish Biblical Characters in the New Testament, the various thematic differences in the Gospel writings, and the historical conditions that led to these writings, and will conclude with a discussion of interfaith dialogue and goals and attention to other questions class participants bring to the sessions.
