Benjamin K. Harris, M.D. was born in Stambaugh, Michigan. His undergraduate degree was from Northwestern, and he earned a medical degree from Yale University. He served in the U. S. Medical Corps at Brooke Army Medical Center and the U. S. Army Hospital at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
He was an intern, medical resident, and fellow in rheumatology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been in the private practice of rheumatology in Phoenix since 1970. He has served on the boards of the Phoenix Chamber Music Society, the Greater Phoenix Chapter of the Autism Society of America, and the Central Arizona Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Dr. Harris has been a member of Congregation Beth Israel since 1976. He was Co-Chair of the Plotkin Judaica Museum Committee from 1998 to 2004, and was the 2007 recipient of the Amdur Award for outstanding volunteer service. He and his wife, Janis, have five children.
